I am involved in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in STEM, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer +) inclusion. As part of this, I am a volunteer with PRISM Exeter, a network for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies working and studying in the local area.
I’ve spoken at a number of events including St Andrew’s University, University of Nottingham and The University of Manchester. In 2019 I was awarded the CEAS Social Responsibility Award (2018/2019) for Public Engagement/Widening Participation.
I was highlighted in by The American Chemical Society’s C&EN magazine as an LGBTQ+ Trailblazing Chemist 2022.
I recently joined the Physics Inclusion Working Group in the Department of Physics at the University of Exeter.
